A Guide to Silk Line Styles & Body Shape

Each dress has features that are designed to flatter the female form. To help you decide which style and silhouette will suit your body shape we've looked at the features of each dress and analysed the body shape that would benefit from the design and seaming details.

AVA

This v-neck pencil skirt wrap dress looks fantastic on the following body shapes:

Inverted triangle, hourglass, pear or apple shape. The v-neckline is great on bigger busts and elongate the figure.

A long and lean figure will be softened by the waterfall fabric detail and the diagonal wrap will break up the column effect of the body length.

LANA

This v-neckline wrap dress suits athletic, slender and straight, apple and pear shaped bodies. The wrap tying at the side of the waist is flattering as it takes the emphasis away from the stomach area.

The draped second layer on the top of this dress creates a nice layer of volume for a smaller bust or a straight/rectangular figure. Because the skirt has a slight A-line it balances out the top half of the body; the draping feature therefore also works for larger busts.

A 30F bust, size 16 client of ours wears our Jane dress and she looks fantastic in it, so the following notes are to be taken as suggestions to assist you - not as set in stone!

MISSY

The body-conscious shape and v-neckline of the Missy dress suits athletic and small busted figures. With a belt added the Missy dress would also suit a pear shape.

Petite compact figures look great in this fitted v-neck dress - streamline seaming creates body length and v-neck lines elongate.

JOJO

The cowl neck on JoJo looks good on a pear or slender and straight figures - having detail around the top balances out a pear shape and creates volume on smaller bust or straight figure.

The empire line panel on this dress works well if you have an apple or petite shape.

ATHENA

With a belt like panel under the bust - the Athena dress creates the illusion of a waistline which is excellent for wedge, apple and pear shaped bodies.

An empire waistline can also work well on petite figures - making the lower half of the body look longer! The v-neckline elongates the bust area and is flattering for larger busted ladies, wedge shapes or to elongate petite figures.

JANE

This flattering dress puts emphasis around the top half of the body which balances out pear shapes.

The graduating hem and slight flare to the skirt shape help take focus away from the tummy and hip areas of the body.

The boat neck line and under-bust detail cuts across the body which can help break up a straight figure.
